As Russia’s invasion on Ukraine continues, many are left wondering how they can help the people of Ukraine. There are several fundraisers, charities, and organizations to consider donating to or helping in some way.
Donate
Save the Children estimates that up to 7.5 million children could be at risk if the situation in Ukraine deteriorates. The charity is calling for donations to help it distribute essential humanitarian aid to families.
Other organizations offering help include International Rescue Committee, UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders, Voices of Children, Samaritan’s Purse, Save The Children, and St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Volunteer
Even if you haven’t got a spare room or second home, you can still help house Ukrainian refugees. Glasgow-based Room for Refugees needs volunteers to help it approve accommodation providers.
You can also check UNHCR for daily updates on what organizations on the ground as well as neighboring countries need.
Donate Essentials
Queues formed outside the Polish White Eagle Club in London at the weekend, as people delivered essentials. In Glasgow, a Facebook group has launched to coordinate donations at drop-off points across the city.
Polish White Eagle Club is accepting donations of clothes, bedding, medications, toiletries, sanitary items, and other essentials. They are also accepting volunteers.
