Internet memes make Facebook fun and Pinterest less pointless, and occasionally, they drive home a little political truth.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell’s team took to Facebook to celebrate the surprise defeat of a massive and ill-conceived gun grab that was pushed relentlessly by President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. On their Facebook page, they featured a meme with various photos of Reid showing his sad face and McConnell looking, well, does his expression ever change?

Regardless, it drives home the point: the progressives, along with their fringe, special interest agenda, lost. In fact, the play was so good, even Politico had to give the GOP a tip-of-the-hat on this one.

Say, America might have a fighting chance after all.
