It's all in the name. The domain name that is.

When beginning a communications plan for a political campaign, or any campaign for that matter, branding is a top priority. There needs to be a seamless message across all social media networks and official campaign website. The most recognizable part should, of course, be the name.

Your domain name should be the first item you secure on your communications plan checklist. Believe it or not, others will try and take your ideal domain name for themselves just to keep you from having it. This could throw a huge wrench in that seamless message plan. Who ever owns the domain name can do with it what they will, so make sure you are the one in charge of your name and not your future opponent.
