Ally Parsons - Monday, August 02, 2010

Happy Monday to everyone and welcome to August! Today's links cover the top politicians using social media, Twitter offering a new way of suggesting people to follow and a newspaper offering free blogs to politicians.

One newspaper embraces political blogging for all: The Baltimore Sun has decided to mesh old media with new media by offering free blogs to every candidate running for office in Maryland by way of the WordPress Mu.

An easier way to find people to follow on Twitter: "Suggestions for You" is a way to find people to follow on Twitter that may have the same interests as you based on their followers. This personalized way of finding people to follow based on who they already follow and who you follow will help in building like-minded political followers for your campaign's Twitter profile.

A list of who is and who isn't using social media correctly: Social media has fully infiltrated our political system. It influences how politicians brand themselves and how they communicate with constituents. See a list of who is doing it right and who is doing it wrong in D.C.
